It's almost March, which means the end of winter is in sight ! This makes me very happy ! Light snow is falling today and I don't mind that since I'm not planning on going anywhere. So let's catch up !


Sunday I road tripped with Rich & Barb. They picked me up about 9 am and we had breakfast at the diner here in Mexico. From there we headed to Aldi's in Carthage. From there we headed to Old Forge and visited a craft brewery/bar. It was a long way to go for a beer but we had a good time ! Then we headed to Lowville and had dinner at our favorite spot Jeb's. Chicken and biscuits were amazing ! I was back home about 5 pm and I haven't left the house since ! I did not exercise Sunday night as it had been a long day and I was tired. I also didn't exercise yesterday and I have NO excuse for that. I spent the day on the couch watching YouTube and playing online games. However, today will be different !


I was in bed before 9:30 last night but I didn't go to sleep until after 3:30 am. I just couldn't settle and scrolling my phone probably didn't help. I was up shortly after 9 and I do feel rested. I spent the morning on Jackpot World, scheduling some bill payments and watching YouTube. I'm working on scheduling the transfers to cover my bills well in advance of their due dates instead of waiting until the last second. That's easy to do for the bills that are the same every month. Eventually I'd like to make some of them "recurring" transfers but I still need to check in on my account on a regular basis. I also extended my satellite radio subscription. It went up $1 a month but that just means it's $5.99 instead of $4.99 and I can manage that.


It's about 12:15 and I'm going to head upstairs by 2 pm and shower. Then I'm getting dressed and getting on the treadmill. I'll come back to this blog once that is done !

  Well, here we are at the tail end of March and nothing much has changed. I've been on the treadmill twice this month. I'm also continuing to eat nothing but processed food and junk. Cookies. Pop Tarts. Frosted Mini Wheats. Frozen mac & cheese. Chicken nuggets with ranch. Hot dogs. Not only is all this crap bad for me .. it's expensive ! So I'm putting a stick in the sand today and saying NO MORE. I'm off my pizza kick because Walmart no longer has the crusts I like. I'm ok with that ! I'm off the pot pie kick because winter is drawing to a close and having the oven on for over an hour to cook one is no longer an attraction. The extra warmth in the kitchen during the winter was great ! I got off the couch around 1:30 today just to get dressed and put out some food the stray cats. I ended up spending a few minutes clearing some old stuff from the fridge and pulled out a bag of romaine I bought weeks ago. I fully expected it to be completely unusable but ...

  Today is March 1 and I would say March came in like a lamb .. so does that mean it will go out as a lion ? Hard to say ! We did have an inch or two of snow overnight but that is nothing. Temps dropped into the teens but that is also nothing. That being said, the low for tonight is near zero ! I'm ok with that since we're doing to be in the 40's starting Tuesday (with overnight lows in the 30's) and may see mid 50's on Saturday ! I should note that for weeks I have not seen any stray cats. My two orange fellas have been awol for weeks and the female I used to feed hasn't been seen in a long while. However, in the past week both males have resurfaced ! The extreme cold likely kept them from camping outside my door and if I don't see them, I don't put wet food out. Dry food is always there so they may have sustained themselves on that.   We're 18 days into the new year and I remain stuck. So what has been going on since I last wrote ? Let's see. Went to bingo on Wednesday January 14 only to find out a few minutes after we arrived that it had been cancelled ! Michelle & Mike came as did Rich & Barb .. what are the odds that the whole crew shows up and it gets cancelled ! DJ was sick and no one was available to cover. We ended up going to the new restaurant in the casino. We had a delicious dinner and afterwards we sat by the fire. Rich & Barb didn't stay long as Barb is still working (until 2-28!) and Michelle and Joe played the slots. Kim and I hung out at the fire with Mike until just after 9 and then we all headed home. Fortunately the weather was good for my drive ! The only other highlight is I finally got my hair colored yesterday. Michelle was doing Kim's and she offered to do mine too.
