Saturday January 03, 2026: Finding Motivation
Here we are. The start of another year. It's hard not to believe it will be yet another year of failure. Here's the thing: it's up to me and I haven't made good decisions the past few years. I gained back every pound that I lost and I'm right back to hating the way I look and feel. Tomorrow is January 4 and I started my very first weight loss journey on January 4, 2019. Six years ago I embarked on Nutrisystem and exercise and lost 150 pounds. Tomorrow the plan is to gently ease back into that mindset. Why gently ? Well, I have a lot of "bad" food in the house and nowhere near enough "good", so I'm not 100% ready. That being said, my treadmill is ready, willing and able ! Am I ? Only one way to find out.
My new year thus far has been spent on the couch watching it snow ! Friday we had some light snow but overnight about 2 feet fell ! We had snow showers on and off yesterday as well. I spent the day watching storm chaser Connor Croff on Youtube driving around the snow band in Fulton, Oswego and Hannibal. I did go out and clear the snow in front of the garage and side door and that was enough ! I'm fortunate to have Doug plowing my driveway. He did a great job yesterday and came back today with his tractor to push back the banks. I was happy about that as the driveway can start to look like a tunnel as the snow piles up. We still have over 2 months of winter to go and I'm already tired of it ! It's 3:14 pm and light snow is falling yet again ! No snow is predicted tomorrow, for the first time in about a week ! I'm going to motivate myself to go to Walmart since I need cat food for Minnie and I need litter.
Like today's inspo photo says, the greatest gift you can give is a healthy you. Winter is the worst time for me as I hate the cold and I won't drive in snow, but I found the will to succeed in 2019 and I can find it again. It might take me a little longer to get started, but I will do it.
2026 is a fresh start. I'm embracing being "retired" and I'm determined to get this weight back off so I can enjoy life again. I want to wear those size 10 jeans again !
